Polymer Clay Mokume Gane Tut by Saint-Angel Polymer Clay Mokume Gane Tut by Saint-Angel
Here's a basic tutorial for making the mokume gane design with polymer clay. This way uses texture sheets, but it can also be done by pressing objects into the clay (a tutorial I hope to do next). These colors are not my favorite, but I wanted to try something new. Personally, I really like using metallic colors because they really stand out with this pattern, especially after a teeny bit of sanding. Enjoy!

Why thank you!
Another great article! Sometimes people just need that little push to get them going on last minute (or anytime really) projects.

I keep meaning to try Mokume Gane. I even went a bought a texture sheet the other day. I just chicken out when it comes time to actually do it. I think I am afraid I am going to screw it up and waste all that clay.

You know, I never think of it as wasting clay... You either make a new color, or you make mud for your other projects! :) Just try it... you'll love it!

That's true. I am always finding good uses for scrap clay. I should just suck it up and go for it.
